Where to now?

Wow! This week has been a crazy week, between nailing down a hypothesis and continuing to do more in-depth research as well as work for other classes, I feel like I haven’t stopped.

This week, I really wanted to nail down my hypothesis. At first, I was a bit apprehensive about using a hypothesis, as I didn’t feel my topic leant itself to one nicely. But as I got stuck in, I realised that to stay on focus and on topic a hypothesis would be beneficial, so then came the struggle of writing one.

Before I attempted my hypothesis, I wrote down what I wanted my feature to focus on and where I thought I would be going with it, in order to write a hypothesis that would actually be beneficial.

My article is more than likely going to bring order to a lot of information that is out there surrounding palm oil. There is a lot of information surrounding the environmental effects, health effects and cultural effects that palm oil has.

Then, of course, there are the people who think palm oil shouldn’t be labelled, and that it would just be too difficult.

So, I think it is important to bring some order to this information and present it in a way that it is easy to understand and follow what the effects of palm oil are, what the positives and negative are, and then the issues with labelling, and how to make an informed decision about whether or not to purchase items that have palm oil as an ingredient.

So, that’s it for this week, talk soon.
